We are excited to announce that tickets are available for the Call to Action Awards. The party will be headlined by renowned local blues trio Lower Case Blues. Tickets are $100 and include a one-hour open bar and buffet dinner during the opening act.
During the set break we will recognize some great people who have done amazing work for the Call. These individuals have done this work, mostly for free, because they believe in independent local journalism.
We always remind ourselves that none of this would be possible without individual financial support. We don’t run advertizing or “Sponsored Content.” In fact, we take no institutional money at all. You and only you keep us 100% independent.
We had a great year. As you all know, we won a huge Supreme Court case that will remake the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) as it relates to making more police documents public in Delaware.
Unfortunately, to actually get some of the information we are legally entitled to, the Delaware State Police is charging us for the administrative costs of pulling, reviewing and providing the material. Yes, we paid the $1,400 because our readers have supported us, and they demand this material! (More on this when we get it.)
